Doubles Duo Falls in ITA Main Draw

TULSA, Okla.— After earning three straight wins to enter into the ITA Men’s All-American Championships doubles main draw, senior duo Jordan Daigle and Justin Butsch fell to the 10th-ranked duo in the nation in the first round Thursday at the Michael D. Case Tennis Center.

The No. 28 pair fell to Southern California’s Nick Crystal and Laurens Verbove, 7-6(3), 6-3.

Earlier in the day, No. 35 Daigle competed in the first round of the main draw singles where he fell to fifth-ranked Christopher Eubanks of Georgia Tech, 7-5, 7-6(6).

“Jordan played a great match and had a few chances in the high caliber event this morning,” head coach Jeff Brown said. “Our doubles pair had a tough go today, but they are ready to keep working in the back draw tomorrow.”

Butsch and Daigle will take the courts once more in consolation doubles on Friday afternoon.
