PACIFIC PALISADES, Calif. — Ryann Foster continued her stellar run through the pre-qualifying stage of the Riviera/ITA Women’s All-American Championships Sunday with a win over Marie Klocker of San Jose State.
Foster defeated Klocker in straight sets, 6-4, 6-1, earning her fourth overall victory in two days of competition and putting her through to the next round of the tournament.
“It was well deserved for Ryann,” said co-head coach Michael Sell. “She’s been outrageously ambitious this entire fall, and for her to come here and get through her three matches to qualifying and dominating in relentless fashion is a credit to her work ethic and her desire to have a really good year.”
In doubles pre-qualifying, Foster and teammate Abby Owens fell to Oregon’s duo of Shweta Sangwan and Alyssa Tobita 8-4.
Foster will look remain undefeated in singles competition in the qualifying round of 64 beginning Tuesday, October 4.
