BATON ROUGE –The official start of pre-season practice sessions is this week for the 2016-17 season for the LSU men’s basketball team and two Baton Rouge products – Brandon Sampson and Brian Bridgewater are “All In.”
The Tigers will host 16 home games at the Pete Maravich Assembly Center in the upcoming season and season ticket deposits are now being accepted at the LSU Athletics Ticket Office.
Teams, under NCAA rules, are allowed to practice 30 times in the 42 days prior to their first regular season game.
Sampson, who played his high school ball at Madison Prep, won two state championships at the school (including one with former LSU player and present Memphis Grizzlies player Jarell Martin. Sampson has been working hard for his sophomore season average playing in 27 games ago and averaging 13.2 minutes per game.
He averaged 4.0 points last year and had a season best of 18 points against both McNeese and NC State. He also showed his long-range shooting abilities in the August 2015 trip to Australia hitting 12 three-pointers in the five games.
Bridgewater, also from Baton Rouge, enters his third year on court with the program. Injuries limited some of his playing time a year ago but the former prep start at Episcopal and later at Scotlandville, where his team won the state championship. Bridgewater was also the MVP of the Top 28 that year.
Bridgewater, whose brother Brad also played at LSU, had a career best of 16 points in his sophomore season against McNeese State.

Deposits are $25 a ticket to reserve your season tickets for the upcoming season.

The $25 deposit will be applied to the cost of the season tickets once the seats are assigned. Season tickets start at $100 for men’s basketball.
