LAFAYETTE, La. – LSU men’s tennis pair Jordan Daigle and Justin Butsch fell to Texas Tech’s 29th-ranked Alex Sendegeya and Bjorn Thomson Sunday in the John Breaux Cajun Tennis Classic at the Culotta Tennis Center.

After trailing in the first set 7-6, Daigle and Butsch pieced together a 6-7 second set win to push the match to the third set where the duo fell 6-2. With the loss, the newly-formed senior duo fell to 3-1 in the fall season.

“We weren’t playing our best, but we found our way to fight through and give ourselves a chance,” head coach Jeff Brown said. “They did did a good job of staying together and had a chance there taking the match point in the second set but give credit to Sendegeya and Thomson from Texas Tech.”

The men’s tennis team returns to Baton Rouge in preparation for the ITA All-American Championships, which begins Saturday, Oct. 1 in Tulsa, Oklahoma.
