LAFAYETTE, La.— Senior duo Jordan Daigle and Justin Butsch posted their third consecutive victory Saturday afternoon to advance to the finals of the John Breaux Cajun Tennis Classic at the Culotta Tennis Center.
The 28th-ranked duo will take the court immediately following the singles competition Sunday. The match will be accessible on Cox Sports Television, the Watch ESPN app and WatchESPN.com beginning with the singles final at noon CT.
After dropping the first set, 4-6, to Jack Jaede and Thibault Forget of Southern California, Daigle and Butsch responded by taking a 6-1 win in the second set and pulled out a gritty 7-5 win in the third set to take the match.
“Jordan and Justin did well to gain momentum early in the second set and kept their composure at the end of the match to finish strong,” head coach Jeff Brown said.
Freshman Rafael Wagner also competed in the consolation singles quarterfinals Saturday where he fell to Texas Tech’s Connor Curry, 6-2, 6-1.
