Reminder: 'Geaux Clear' Bag Policy In Effect
BATON ROUGE – LSU reminds fans coming to Saturday’s home opener against Jacksonville State that the school’s new clear bag policy “Geaux Clear” will be in place for the first time in Tiger Stadium.
LSU’s new clear bag policy is consistent with what the NFL and other professional organizations have done for the past several years. The policy is also in line with what Southeastern Conference member institutions such as Auburn, Florida, Texas A&M, and South Carolina have put into place this year. Additional SEC schools are expected to implement the clear bag policy in the near future.
LSU’s clear bag policy allows for only clear tote bags smaller than 12” x 6” x 12” or one-gallon plastic freezer bags to be permitted in Tiger Stadium and other venues on the LSU campus this year. Bags must be clear and transparent and cannot be tinted, textured or patterned.
In addition, fans are reminded that they may not put a non-clear bag into a clear bag. Small handheld clutch purses, which don’t have to be clear, will continued to be permitted into LSU venues.
LSU will be distributing complimentary one-gallon freezer bags in parking lots throughout campus on Saturday leading up to the game that night in Tiger Stadium.
All backpacks regardless of size are prohibited and any bags larger than 12” x 6” x 12”, clear or non-clear will be strictly prohibited. Exceptions will be made for approved medical needs and diaper bags (with baby). All bags will be subject to search and inspection.
Clear tote bags that comply with the new policy are also available at major retailers in Baton Rouge.
