BATON ROUGE – Fall workouts are beginning for the LSU men’s basketball and sophomore Antonio Blakeney and junior Elbert Robinson III are “All In.”
The Tigers will host 16 home games at the Pete Maravich Assembly Center in the upcoming season and season ticket deposits are now being accepted at the LSU Athletics Ticket Office.
Blakeney in his freshman season at LSU earned All-SEC freshman team honors as selected by the league coaches, averaging 12.8 points a game and 3.4 rebounds per game. The guard can shoot the ball from long distance as well as drive to the hoop. In league play, he averaged over 14 points a game and scored 31 points versus Mississippi State and 32 points versus Florida.
Blakeney, from Sarasota, Florida, was valuable for the Tigers at the free throw line, making 31-of-his-last-32 to end the season, including a streak of 28 straight, making 74-plus percent for the season.
Robinson III can certainly help the Tigers in many ways when he has been in the game the last two years. He shot over 51 percent from in close from the field last season and can grab the important rebounds for LSU, defensively and he can also keep possessions alive with offensive rebounds.
Robinson, from Garland, Texas and Lakeview Centennial HS, had a career high last season against South Alabama.
