BATON ROUGE, La. — With a 14-6 record overall and 3-3 mark in conference play, the LSU women’s tennis team is ranked 15th in the latest ITA/Oracle Collegiate Tennis Rankings released.

The Lady Tigers have held steady in the top 25 since the initial poll released at the beginning of the season. The team reached a program-high ranking of ninth in early March.

During the third weekend of conference play, LSU defeated No. 26 Kentucky and fell to No. 7 Vanderbilt. The Lady Tigers defeated the Wildcats 4-3 in Lexington Thursday behind the clinch by Senior Skylar Kuykendall. In six conference matches this season, four have finished with scores of 4-3 and LSU has won three of those matches.

In Nashville, LSU fell 5-2 to the Commodores. With an updated doubles lineup, LSU took the point for the first time against an SEC opponent since the 2015 season against Kentucky.

Junior Joana Vale Costa took two singles wins over the weekend on the top court for the Lady Tigers. Vale Costa moved up one spot to No. 19 in the ITA singles rankings. The Lisbon, Portugal native owns a 12-6 record this spring on court one.

Freshman Jessica Golovin also moved up to No. 48 in the singles poll. Sophomore Ryann Foster is 15-2 in dual matches and 3-2 in conference for LSU. Junior Abby Owens has also served as a strong spot in the lineup with a 14-4 record and 5-1 mark in SEC play.

LSU returns to action at 4 p.m. Friday against Missouri and 11 a.m. Sunday against Arkansas.
