BATON ROUGE – Culminating a weekend of celebration of a career and legacy, Bob Pettit will be the special guest on Monday for the season’s final Johnny Jones Tipoff Luncheon at the L’Auberge Hotel and Casino Baton Rouge.
The monthly gatherings for good food and basketball conversations are presented again this year by Hub International.
The event will feature Coach Jones speaking about his team and answering questions from the media and audience on hand.
Pettit, the Naismith Hall of Famer whose jersey hangs from the rafters of the Maravich Center and who had a statue honoring him unveiled on Saturday, had a career at LSU that included two SEC titles and an NCAA Final Four. In the NBA, Pettit won two regular-season MVPs and four All-Star MVP trophies and helped his St. Louis Hawks to the 1958 NBA title. This will be Pettit’s first appearance at the Tipoff Luncheon since 2013.
