BATON ROUGE, La. The No. 35 LSU men’s tennis team (2-1) is back in action for the first time since January to host a double header against No. 39 Drake (5-3) at 3 p.m. followed by an instate opponent, Nicholls (1-2), at 7 p.m. Friday at the LSU Tennis Complex.

“Our team is ready to get back on the court,” Head Coach Jeff Brown explained. “It was quite an extended practice only time in the beginning of the season. We’ve gotten a lot of work in and it’s been great but it’s time. We are looking forward to hosting a very good Drake team as well as playing our first official match at the new stadium.”

Junior Jordan Daigle leads the Tigers ranked at No. 44 with a dual match record of 3-1 on court one. Daigle and Senior Boris Arias also form the team’s top doubles pair ranked 25th in the country.

Drake, coming off a three-win streak including a most recent upset over No. 23 Minnesota, have charted losses only against schools ranked in the top 40.

This is the second consecutive year for LSU to host Nicholls in their home opener with a 7-0 victory over the Colonels last year.
