AUCKLAND, New Zealand- Former LSU Men’s Tennis player Michael Venus and partner Mate Pavic took the title at the Auckland ATP World Tour, Friday.
The pair faced No. 4 seeds Eric Butorac and Scott Lipsky in the finals to take the match in straight sets, which is their second ATP doubles title as a team.
The New Zealand native is ranked No. 45 in the world and has been playing with Pavic since 2015 where the duo won the Open de Nice Côte d’Azur as well as appearing in 17 tournaments together.
Venus was a part of the LSU Men’s Tennis team from 2006-2009 where he finished his senior season in the top 10 in both singles and doubles.
