FORT MYERS, Fla. – The final day of the FGCU Invitational took place Sunday in Fort Myers with LSU facing duos from Kentucky and Memphis.
LSU saw court time from a new duo composed of two veterans in seniors Boris Arias and Andrew Korinek over Memphis’s Gus Benson and Andrew Watson. The Tiger team sealed the victory over Memphis with a score of 6-3.
Kentucky teams got the better of LSU in the final day of the tournament. LSU’s Gabor Csonka and Tam Trinh put up a fight against Ryotaro Matsamura and Wallart Enzo just falling shy with a score of 5-7.
Justin Butsch and Simon Freud took the courts together for the first time since September falling to Nils Ellefsen and Kevin Lai of Kentucky, 6-2.
The Tigers will return Jan. 15 to play in the USTA Futures event in Sunrise, Fla.
