FORT MYERS, Fla. – LSU took to the courts for the second day of the FGCU Invitational Saturday facing opponents from the University of Memphis in both singles and doubles play.
“We got a lot out of today’s matches,” Head Coach Jeff Brown said. “It was another competitive day and it was also extremely warm so that was a bonus.”
It was a shining day for the sophomores of LSU tennis with victories from Simon Freund and Gabor Csonka over Memphis’s Louis Asser and Shakeel Manji, respectively.
For duo Boris Arias and Gabor Csonka the tournament has been a success, going undefeated for the weekend against teams from FGCU and Memphis. The pair only saw one match together in the fall at the LSU Invitational, coming out victorious over the Van Cott brothers of Tulane.
The FGCU Invitational is set to conclude with the final matches beginning Sunday at 9 a.m. CT in Fort Myers, Florida.
