Get To ‘Kneaux’: Lexie Priessman

BATON ROUGE – LSU gymnast Lexie Priessman has begun her career as a Tiger with a successful fall, and she has her sights set on a productive freshman season in 2016.

After missing the latter part of her club career with injuries, Priessman is ready to show off her skill and talent in front of great crowds in the Maravich Center.

She captured the 2012 Visa (Now P&G) Championships all-around title in the junior international division and was a member of the US National Team in 2012.

Find out a little more about the Cincinnati, Ohio native in this fun and informative Q&A.

Do not miss your chance to see Priessman and the Tigers take on some of the nation’s best teams at home in 2016.

Season tickets for the upcoming season are on sale at www.LSUtix.net at a cost of $15 for youth ages 3-12 and $25 for adults.

Great seats are still available to be reserved with season tickets.

LSU will host five home meets in the Maravich Center in 2016, starting with a bang against national power Oklahoma. The Tigers will also take on Southeastern Conference foes Kentucky, Arkansas, Auburn and Alabama.

“Get to Kneaux” Lexie Priessman a little better in this Q&A:

Why did you choose LSU?
I was recruited by the coaching staff and decided to take a visit. As soon as I got on campus I felt like I was at home. Everyone was so welcoming and the coaching staff was so fun. I enjoyed the school atmosphere and felt like this is where my next chapter should be.

What has been your favorite moment at LSU?
My favorite moment has been cheering on my team during our first team intrasquad. The team atmosphere is just an amazing feeling.

What are your goals for the 2016 season?
My goals are to do my part to help our team strive to win this year. We have such a talented, hard working group of girls, and I can’t wait to see what the future holds for us!

What have you worked on the most in the gym to prepare for 2016?
I have worked on getting healthy to be back in action. My team has pushed me day-in and day-out and has motivated me to keep pushing myself. I wouldn’t be feeling this great if it wasn’t for an amazing athletic trainer, coaches, and a great team!

Have you checked out the construction of the new training facility? What are your thoughts?
Speechless! I am so blessed and grateful to know I will spend my next four years with an amazing group of girls in a great facility.

Ok, now to the fun questions.

What do you like most about your hometown?
I love high school football games and Graeter’s ice cream! I sure do miss my ice cream dates with my best friend Amelia!

Do you have a talent other than gymnastics? What is it?
I am a pretty fast sprinter. If I didn’t do gymnastics I would probably run track.

If the team was to come to your house for dinner, what would you prepare for them? Be honest 🙂
I would prepare them chicken and salad. I love salads! I also would make skyline dip for everyone to try. It’s a Cincinnati thing 🙂

What is your go-to Pandora station?
When in doubt…SAM HUNT!

What song describes your work ethic when it comes to gymnastics?
“Fly” by Avril Lavigne. I actually have chosen this for my beam song.
It is about never giving up because it’s your time to shine. I feel like I have been through a lot lately, and this song describes me the best.

How many quarters would you need to stack in order to reach the top of the Maravich Center?
Oh WOW, a whole bunch! Estimating isn’t my thing!

Without looking it up, can you tell us how many years Bob Moore has coached at LSU?
Hmm…here comes my guess: Maybe 37! I’m really not sure, but I do know I get to spend my career with one funny guy!

If someone asked you why they should get LSU gymnastics season tickets, what would you tell them?
Our coaches and team are so ready for this year. We would LOVE your support at the PMAC on Friday nights. Where else would you want to be? It’s about to be one FANTASTIC year for LSU gymnastics!

Do you want to build a snowman?
ABSOLUTELY! I don’t miss the Cincinnati snow, so maybe we could build it with fake snow!
