The auction ended with a bid of $101,000. Details will be announced later Monday. Thanks to all who bid on this unique opportunity to support the people of South Carolina.

BATON ROUGE ? The jersey worn by running back Leonard Fournette in LSU’s 45-24 win over South Carolina on October 10 will be auctioned off beginning on Saturday, Nov. 7, at 7 a.m. CT with all proceeds going to aid the flood victims in South Carolina.

The autographed Fournette jersey along with a Steve Spurrier-signed South Carolina helmet worn in that game and a Les Miles-signed LSU helmet from that contest will be part of the auction. All the items will be packaged together with the opening bid set for $7,000. A notarized letter of authenticity will be presented to the winner of the auction.

The auction will run from 7 a.m. CT on Saturday, Nov. 7, until 11 a.m. CT on Monday, Nov. 9. Those interested in placing bids can do so at www.LSUauction.net.?

LSU is also asking those people interested in assisting with the recovery of the South Carolina flood victims can make monetary donations anytime at www.redcross.org/lsutigers.?

“Having been through a similar situation with my family during Hurricane Katrina when I was 10 years old, this is something that I wanted to do to help those in need,” Fournette said of the jersey auction. “The generosity of people helped my family make it through Hurricane Katrina. I’m hopeful that the money raised with this auction can make a difference for those flood victims in South Carolina.”

The Fournette jersey will be auctioned “as is” complete with his “Fournette” nameplate on the back of the uniform. Fournette will sign the back of the jersey.

“What Leonard has done is a tremendous gesture from a student-athlete with a much bigger vision than outcomes of games,” LSU vice chancellor and director of athletics Joe Alleva said. “Leonard is a great teammate, a wonderful representative of LSU and we are proud to support him in this endeavor.”
