PACIFIC PALISADES, Calif. — Skylar Kuykendall and Abby Owens of the LSU women’s tennis team will compete in the ITA All-American Prequalifying Saturday and Sunday at the Riviera Club in Pacific Palisades, California.
Owens is coming off of a successful weekend at the Wildcat Invite where she won her draw. The junior will compete in prequalifying singles at 2:30 p.m. CT Saturday against Marie Norris of TCU. Norris, a freshman blue-chip recruit, was ranked as the No. 3 WTA American player in the 2015 class.
Owens and Kuykendall will compete in the prequalifying doubles as the third-ranked team. The duo received a first-round bye and will take on either Laura Gulbe and Dzina Milovanovic of Pepperdine or Maria Alavarez and Kelsey Laurente of Oklahoma State at 10 a.m. CT on Sunday.
