MONROE, La. – LSU Basketball guard Keith Hornsby, along with Southeastern Louisiana’s Cedric jenkins have been named Co-Louisiana Sports Writers Association’s Men’s Basketball Player of the Week after voting by an LSWA panel on Monday.

Hornsby drilled a game-winning three from the corner to beat No. 18 Arkansas on the road in the regular season finale for both teams. For the week, the Tiger guard averaged 19 points and 5 rebounds per contest. Jenkins meanwhile tallied a career-best and tied the school’s D-I record for points with 39 in a contest at New Orleans. The LaPlace, La., native averaged 29.3 points per outing as the Lions played three games last week.

Noteworthy: Made his LSU scoring high with 25 in the loss to Tennessee and then in the Arkansas game made the buzzer-beating three-pointer to beat No. 18 Arkansas at Bud Walton Arena, 81-78 … Only LSU player to start all 31 games this season for the Tigers … Just 45 season turnovers in team high 1,093 minutes … Has had 14 consecutive double figure scoring games, will have a chance in first game of SEC Tournament to push the string to 15 equaling the longest streak since 2009-10. Averaging 13.2 points per game and 4.2 rebounds a game.
