BATON ROUGE, La. – The 2 Seam Dream Foundation will holds its third annual Cancer Awareness Day Saturday in Alex Box Stadium, Skip Bertman Field. The foundation was created by former LSU pitcher Rick Greene to raise funds for cancer research.
Saturday’s event includes an autograph session at 10 a.m., a Home Run Derby at 10:45 a.m. , a live auction at Noon and a softball game at 12:30 p.m. featuring current and former Major League Baseball players.
Current and former LSU Major Leaguers scheduled to appear at the event are: Kurt Ainsworth, Paul Byrd, Louis Coleman, Mike Fontenot, Mark Guthrie, Will Harris, Brad Hawpe, Trey Hodges, Russ Johnson, Brandon Larson, Brett Laxton, DJ LeMahieu, Barry Manuel, Ben McDonald, Warren Morris, Lyle Mouton, John O’Donoghue, Chad Ogea, Jeff Reboulet, Armando Rios, Andy Sheets, Mike Sirotka, Russ Springer, Ryan Theriot, Ryan Verdugo, Todd Walker and Eddie Yarnall.
LSU hitting coach Andy Cannizaro, a former New York Yankee, is also scheduled to appear, along with current and former MLB players like Paul Bako, Reid Brignac, Frank Catalanotto, Jack Cressend, David Dellucci, Darryl Hamilton, Chris Hoiles, Brooks Kieschnick, Brian McRae, Mike Mohler, Gregg Olson, John Rocker, Marc Valdes and Kelly Wunsch.
