TUSCALOOSA, Ala. – The LSU cross country teams competed in the Southeastern Conference Championships at Harry Pritchett Course in Tuscaloosa, Alabama, where the men placed 13th with a total of 361 points and the women placed 14th with a total of 385 points.
The men and women competed against 13 teams, while the men raced the 8k course and the women raced the 6k course.
Junior Morgan Schuetz led the Lady Tigers finishing with a time of 21 minutes and 31.35 seconds for a 52nd-place finish. Sophomore Chaiss Matthews was the second Lady Tiger to cross the finish line placing 90th with a time of 22:34.53.
Seniors Andrea Maxwell and Andria Aguilar placed in the top-100 for the Lady Tigers. Maxwell finished with a time of 22:29.28, while Aguilar finished five seconds behind Maxwell.
Senior Philip Primeaux was the first Tiger to cross the line for the men’s team with a time of 25:29.20 for 36th place. Junior Travis Pope finished 83rd with a time of 26:35.98. Freshman DC Lipani placed in the top-100 with a time of 26:56.95.
The Arkansas men and women cross country teams took home the SEC Championship titles, as the Razorbacks finished with 54 total points and the Lady Razorbacks finished with 32 points.
The Tigers and Lady Tigers travel back to Fayetteville, Arkansas to compete in the NCAA South Central Regional. The regional meet will take place Friday, November 14, at Agri Park Cross Country Course.
