TAF Supports Golf Teams at Annual President’s Cup

This past Friday, the Tiger Athletic Foundation held its 16th-annual TAF President’s Cup Championship Golf Tournament at the University Club Golf Course. This tournament is held each year to raise money in support of the LSU Men’s and Women’s Golf programs. This year, 27 teams teed up to support our student-athletes.

TAF would like to congratulate the winners of this year’s President’s Cup, Team Stagg, pictured with TAF President and CEO, Rick Perry and LSU President, F. King Alexander on the 50 yard line prior to the kickoff of the Kentucky vs. LSU football game. Members of Team Stagg included: John Stagg, Trez Simmons, Brian East and Wendell Akins.

TAF would like to thank all that participated for once again making the 16th Annual TAF President’s Cup Championship a resounding success.

The TAF President’s Cup is presented by Cox Communications and Cox Business with additional sponsorships provided by Baton Rouge Coca Cola, the Jambalaya Shoppe, Superior Grill, Walk-On’s and of course the University Club. With the support of these fine sponsors along with the participation of the players, TAF was able to raise over $55,000 for the golf programs this year. This money will be divided between the men’s and women’s programs and will go a long way to ensure that our teams continue to compete at a championship level. As a result of the President’s Cup tournaments, approximately $570,000 has been donated to the LSU golf programs since 1999.
