Once “Bayou Madness” begins, the free event will have a lights-out introduction of the players from both teams followed by remarks from head coaches Johnny Jones and Nikki Caldwell. Fans will then get a first look at the teams during competitions featuring a three-point shootout, a scrimmage and an exciting dunk contest with the men’s team. Plus, one LSU Student will win a $1,000 cash prize giveaway!
The Tigers under Jones, whose 39 wins in his first two years is more victories than any men’s coach at LSU in their first two seasons, welcomes the return of 2014 All-SEC Freshman Team members Jarell Martin and Jordan Mickey. The Tigers also bring in an elite recruiting class led by transfer Keith Hornsby and newcomers Josh Gray, Aaron Epps and Elbert Robinson III.
Caldwell enters her fourth season at the helm of the Lady Tigers, who are coming off back-to-back NCAA Sweet 16 appearances. Junior guard Danielle Ballard and sophomore Raigyne Moncrief return for the Lady Tigers in 2014-15 who play exhibition games in the Maravich Center on Nov. 5 (Loyola NO) and Nov. 9 (Mississippi College) before opening the season on Nov. 14 at 11:30 a.m. versus Arkansas-Little Rock.
The men will play one exhibition game on Nov. 7 against Morehouse before opening on Nov. 15 at noon against Gardner-Webb.
