TUSCALOOSA, Ala. – The LSU women’s tennis team will travel to the University of Alabama to compete in the ITA Southern Regional Championships beginning Friday at 8 a.m.

Newcomers Skylar Kuykendall, Amanda Atanasson and Madara Straume will join returning players Ella Taylor, Noel Scott, Joana Vale Costa, Skylar Holloway and Abigail Owens for both singles and doubles competition.

“Regionals is really the halfway point of our fall season. We have the opportunity to compete against the best teams in our region and have a chance to win a wild card into National Indoors,” said LSU Head Coach Julia Sell.

LSU will face fellow conference teams Auburn, Alabama, Mississippi State and Ole Miss at the ITA Southern Regional Championships. Other schools competing include Jackson State, Jacksonville State, Nicholls State, Tulane, South Alabama, McNeese State, Louisiana Tech, University of Louisiana-Monroe, University of Louisiana-Lafayette, Northwestern State, Southern Mississippi, Samford University, Troy University and UAB.

Competition kicks off each day at 8 a.m. CT from the Alabama Tennis Stadium.

“Our goal is to improve every day we step on the court,” Sell said. “I’m looking for our team to compete hard and continue their personal development.”
