ATLANTA – The LSU women’s tennis team begins fall play on Friday at the Georgia Tech Yellow Jacket Invitational. All members of the Lady Tigers team will travel to Atlanta, Georgia, for the season-opening tournament.
The Lady Tigers will take on Georgia Tech, Georgia State and North Carolina State over the course of the three-day tournament.
“This weekend is a great opportunity for our freshman to play in their first collegiate tournament and for our returnees to test out the things they worked on over the summer,” LSU head coach Julia Sell said.
Competition begins at 2 p.m. CT Friday as LSU takes on Georgia State in doubles. Singles play follows as the Lady Tigers will square off against Georgia Tech at 3:30 p.m.
Newcomers Amanda Atanasson and Madara Straume, along with transfer Skylar Kuykendall, will be making their LSU debuts at the invitational as they join senior Noel Scott, junior Ella Taylor and sophomores Skylar Holloway, Abigail Owens and Joana Vale Costa.
