BATON ROUGE – Three LSU players were selected to the four-team Collegesportsmadness.com preseason All-SEC team announced earlier Thursday.
Johnny O’Bryant III was named to the second five-man team at the forward position, while guard Anthony Hickey was named to the third team and freshman Jarell Martin of Baton Rouge was named the fourth team forward.
O’Bryant III, from Cleveland, Miss., averaged 13.6 points per game and 8.7 rebounds per game with 15 doubles doubles in earning first-team All-SEC honors a year ago. Hickey, from Hopkinsville, Ky., averaged 11.2 points per game, 3.9 assists and 2.9 steals. Both are returning for their junior seasons at LSU. Martin of Madison Prep, was a McDonald’s All-America after a stellar senior season at the local school.
CollegeSportsmadness.com also put LSU as an NCAA team at No. 45 in its review of the 144 top teams entering the 2013-14 season.
