BATON ROUGE – The road player of Andre Stringer of LSU and back-to-back 20-plus performances for Whitney Bibbins of Tulane earned the pair Louisiana Sports Writers Association Player of the Week honors.
Stringer had 19 points in a road win at UC Irvine and then had 20 points with six treys in the Tigers game at Marquette. Bibbins had a career-high 25 points against Louisiana-Lafayette and 23 points in a win over North Texas.

WOMEN
WHITNEY BIBBINS – Tulane
Averaged a team-best 24.0 points per game and shot 54.3 percent from the field during Tulane’s 1-1 week…chipped in with 7.5 rebounds, 2.0 steals, 1.5 assists and 1.0 blocks per outing as well…proved to be a workhorse for the team, averaging 34.5 minutes per game…making her first start of the season on Wednesday against UL-Lafayette, scored a career-high 25 points after sinking 9-of-18 field goals and 7-of-9 free throws…added a pair of blocks, two steals and an assist vs. the Ragin’ Cajuns…followed that up with 23 points on 10-of-17 shooting from the field and a 3-for-3 performance from the free throw line in Saturday’s win over North Texas…added seven assists, two steals and a pair of assists … Tulane lost to Louisiana-Lafayette 65-64 in overtime and defeated North Texas, 73-62.
