TEMPE, Ariz. – LSU posted a 10-over par round of 294 Friday in the first round of the PING/ASU Invitational at the Karsten Golf Course.
Arizona State is the leader at 4-under par 280, the only team to break par. Defending national champion UCLA and Stanford are tied for second at even par 284 on the par 71 course.
LSU was paced by freshman Madelene Sagstrom who posted an even par round of 71 and stands in a group tied for 13th place, four shots out of the lead held by Bethany Calvo of UNLV and Arizona State’s Justine Lee with 4-under 67.
Tessa Teachman and Jacqueline Hedwall each had three-over 74s, while Lindsay Gahm and Katrina Hegge each posted 4-over 75s.
This is the final regular season event for the Lady Tigers, who are playing without sophomore Austin Ernst, who is playing in the LPGA Kraft Nabisco Championships this weekend.
