BATON ROUGE – The LSU women’s golf team continues to impress the national pollsters moving up one spot to fourth in the latest Golf World, National Golf Coaches Association Coaches Poll.
LSU has won three tournaments and has a second place on its resume’ with one regular season tournament to go, one of just two schools in the top 25 with at least three tournament wins.
The Lady Tigers finished second in the LSU Tiger Golf Classic as freshman Madelene Sagstrom finished third and sophomore Austin Ernst fourth.
UCLA remains No. 1 and the top three all stayed the same with Alabama two and USC three. With LSU moving up to No. 4, Vanderbilt also moved up a spot to five and Auburn dropped from four to sixth.
Arizona remained seventh. The rest of the top 10 is new with Duke moving from 12th to eighth, Oklahoma State dropping from a tie for eighth to ninth and North Carolina moved up from 11th to 10th.
LSU’s final regular season tournament is March 30-April 1 at the Ping, ASU Invitational at the ASU Karsten Course in Tempe, Ariz.
