BATON ROUGE – After earning back-to-back Third-Team All-South Region honors as a sophomore in 2009 and as a junior in 2010, LSU Soccer senior Allysha Chapman earned her first career First-Team All-South Region selection this fall by the National Soccer Coaches Association of America.
Chapman has been a leader of LSU’s defensive unit throughout her three-year career with the Tigers from 2009-11 while cracking the first 11 as both a defensive midfielder and left back during her tenure.
She is also the first member of the LSU Soccer program selected the SEC Defensive Player of the Year as she has received SEC Co-Defensive Player of the Year and First-Team All-SEC honors this season. Chapman wrapped up her collegiate career with the Tigers as a three-time All-SEC selection after earning Second-Team All-SEC honors in 2009 and First-Team All-SEC honors in 2010.
A native of Courtice, Ontario, Canada, Chapman is an LSU graduate after receiving her degree in biology during commencement exercises held nearly two weeks ago on Dec. 16.
