BATON ROUGE – Gymnastics, Baseball and of course men’s basketball will be among the topics spotlighted Monday night at 7 p.m. from TJ Ribs on Acadian Thruway as “The Trent Johnson Show presented by Capital One Bank” debuts for the 2011-12 season on the LSU Sports Radio Network.
The first week’s program is an all sports topic show and will be hosted by the Voice of the Tigers, Jim Hawthorne.
Jim will also be joined by LSU Sports Radio Network analyst Ricky Blanton who will discuss the men’s season so far and preview the upcoming games. Blanton will return again as host of the show with Coach Johnson beginning on Monday night, Dec. 12.
Guests are still being lined up for the all-sports edition but LSU baseball Coach Paul Mainieri will be on hand to review fall baseball and look ahead to the 2012 baseball season and assistant women’s gymnastics coach Philip Ogletree will discuss the upcoming season as well as preview a special gymnastics event on the campus, Dec. 10.
The show will run primarily on Mondays through the end of the regular season with Tuesday shows set for Dec. 20 and Jan. 3 because of games on those Monday nights. The show will air in Baton Rouge on affiliate New Country 100.7 FM The Tiger and will be available in the Geaux Zone at LSUsports.net.
After Saturday’s game with Rutgers, the Tigers are off for final exam week before resuming play on Saturday, Dec. 10, at 7 p.m. against Boise State.
