BATON ROUGE – LSU gymnastics coach D-D Breaux announced Thursday she received a National Letter of Intent from standout Randii Wyrick for the 2012-13 season.
Wyrick is a native of Las Vegas, Nev., and she competes for Dayna Waroe and Terry Gray at Brown’s Las Vegas Gymnastics. A level 10 gymnast, Wyrick is a four-time Junior Olympics National Championship qualifier.
Wyrick captured the vault national title and placed fourth on bars at the 2011 J.O. National Championship, and she earned a spot on the J.O. national team in 2010 after a fourth-place finish in the all-around and sixth-place finishes on vault and beam. In 2008 Wyrick placed fifth in the all-around at nationals, and she also finished fifth on floor, seventh on beam and 10th on vault and bars.
“Randii comes from a great program in Brown’s Las Vegas, and she is a great competitor,” Breaux said. “She is such a consistent performer. We are recruiting her as an all-arounder, and I think she will definitely come in and have an impact as a freshman.”
LSU will hold its second intrasquad event of the fall on Nov. 18 in the practice gym inside Maddox Field House.
