TULSA, Okla. — Senior Neal Skupski fell short to No. 8 ranked Michigan player Evan King Thursday, ending his run at the ITA All-American Championships in Tulsa, Okla.
After falling victim in straight sets to USC all-star Daniel Nguyen in the singles main draw, Skupski faced No. 8 King in the consolation round where he played tough, but could not hold on, giving up the match 7-5, 6-1.
“Neal did not play his best match today,” assistant coach Danny Bryan said. “We look at this tournament as a great learning experience and hope to go back to Baton Rouge, improve on a couple of things and get ready for our next tournament.”
Next up for the Tigers is the ITA Southern Regional set to begin on October 20.
