COSTA MESA, Calif. — LSU’s Neal Skupski and partner Chris Eaton defeated Daniel Cox and Adam Hubble to claim the doubles title at the USTA Futures Event in Costa Mesa, Calif. today.
The duo won in straight sets 6-3, 6-3 to clinch the doubles title.
“This has been a very good week for Neal,” assistant coach Danny Bryan said. “He won four consecutive matches to qualify for the singles main draw and he came out on top in doubles. Each match he improved. This was a great start to the year for Neal and gives him a lot of momentum going in to next week’s ITA All-American tournament.”
Skupski and his teammates will return to Louisiana tomorrow where they will begin preparation for the ITA All-American Tournament set to begin Oct. 3 in Tulsa, Okla.
