Women’s Golf in 12th at NCAA Fall Preview

FRANKLIN, Tenn. – The LSU Lady Tiger golf team improved its score but fell a bit in the standings after the second round of the three-day Mason Rudolph Fall Preview Saturday at the Vanderbilt Legends Club.

LSU posted a 12-over par 300 to stand at 27 over 603 after 36 holes and in 12th place.

Defending national champion UCLA became the first team to post an under par round of the tournament with a five under 283 to move into first at three-over 579. They have a six-shot lead over second place Alabama with North Carolina in third at 588. First round leader Southern Cal fell to seventh after two rounds.

Sophomore Lindsey Gahm had the best round of the second day for LSU with an even par 72, while sophomore Austin Ernst rebounded with a one-over 73. Freshman Madeline Sagstrom posted a four-over 76 and senior Tessa Teachman and junior Katrina Hegge had five-over 77s.

With her even par round, Gahm moved up 16 spots in the individual standings to a tie for 26th at four-over par 148 (76-72).

Alabama’s Jennifer Kirby fired a six-under 66 on the second day of the event to take the individual lead at six-under par 138 (72-66).

Tulane is 15th after two rounds at 33-over 609 (309-300) with Samantha Troyanovich in a tie for 26th at 148 (75-73).
