BATON ROUGE – The LSU volleyball team is inviting youth ages 12 and under to attend a free Kid’s Clinic Saturday at 4 p.m. leading into the annual Purple & Gold Scrimmage at the Maravich Center.
The six-time defending SEC Western Division champions will instruct volleyball basics. In addition, fans will have the opportunity to get their 2011 LSU volleyball poster autographed by the entire team and coaching staff. Email promotions@lsu.edu to reserve your spot and include how many kids will be attending the event.
LSU has racked up an impressive 140-44 mark and is one of 18 programs nationally to collect six straight NCAA Tournament appearances en route to the nation’s 11th-best winning percentage going back to the 2005 season.
The Tigers open the regular season at home by welcoming Alcorn State, Louisiana-Lafayette, Jacksonville State and 2010 NCAA Tournament participant Miami, Fla. for the Tiger Classic on Aug. 26-27.
Fans are encouraged to take advantage of the Geaux Free program for all home matches this season compliments of The Advocate. The Tigers have compiled a 62-10 mark at home since 2005.
