BATON ROUGE — Junior Amanda Kendall finished 20th overall in the 50-meter freestyle after competing in her first ‘B’ Final of the week at the ConocoPhillips US Nationals hosted by Stanford University in Palo Alto, Calif.
Kendall has enjoyed a spectacular week so far in which she has posted two life-time bests and appeared in two ‘C’ Finals. She swam a phenomenal 50m free preliminary time (25.84) and tied her lifetime best. In the ‘B’ Final, Kendall registered a time of 26.20
Kendall finished 22nd in the 200m free on Wednesday. Her ‘C’ Final time (2:00.14) in the 200m free was the 12th best out of the 30 swimmers who qualified for one of the three finals. She set her lifetime best in the 100m butterfly (1:00.00) on Tuesday and finished 23rd.
Kendall will look to make her mark in one of three finals in her final event, the 100m free, on Saturday.
Junior Sally Wood posted a lifetime best in the 400m individual medley with a time of 4:54.22. She finished 52nd out of 129 competitors.
Sophomore Jessica Kopcso swam an impressive 1:14.86 in the 100m breast. She qualified for this event after recording an NCAA-cut in the 100yd breast (1:02.89) and finishing 19th at SEC Championships.
