“Hey Tiger Fans,

The dedication required to balancing schoolwork and practice is the most difficult part of being a student athlete, especially during the spring when we are traveling for games. This can be very overwhelming as a freshman, but we are blessed with an abundance amount of help.

LSU provides us with outstanding resources to make sure we stay on top of our class assignments. The academic center helps us stay on track and on schedule by providing us with mentors and tutors. I can’t stress enough how important it is to communicate and have good relationships with your professors.

We receive a travel sheet every spring with all of the dates we will be missing class due to traveling. I give all of my teachers the travel sheet, and I remind each professor a couple days in advance that I will be missing class. By doing this, my professors tend to be a lot more accommodating when I need to reschedule a test or make up an in class assignment.

Being organized is very important to me. I use a planner and it is color-coded with all of my test dates, project deadlines, practices, travel dates, etc.  To be successful in the classroom, I have to stay organized. My planner helps me prepare for tests ahead of time and meet deadlines for projects.

If you want to be successful in the classroom, you can’t procrastinate and put things off until the last minute. I take pride in my achievement in the classroom because not only will it my life easier as a student athlete, but I know my success will help create many job opportunities for myself after college.

Be sure to follow us on the road over the weekend, and I look forward to seeing back at Tiger Park next week

Geaux Tigers,

Apple
