Notes on the Tigers
No. 21 LSU dropped its first five SEC contests against No. 2 Florida and No. 1 Georgia last week. Simone Heyward hit safely in four of the five games for the Tigers, while Lauren Houston and Juliana Santos connected for back-to-back home runs to open the seventh inning of the series opener at Georgia. LSU’s pitching staff will look to bounce back from allowing 39 runs over the five-game stretch. The Tigers head to Southern Miss for a single game Wednesday before welcoming Kentucky to Tiger Park for a weekend series. Saturday’s game at 1 p.m. will be carried live on Cox Sports Television.
