BATON ROUGE – The LSU men’s basketball team and the LSU Athletics Department invites everyone to the Pete Maravich Assembly Center for a special day of fun, excitement and SEC basketball as Saturday’s LSU-Vanderbilt game has been designated as “LSU Basketball Fan Appreciation Day.”
The game is set for 12:47 p.m. inside the PMAC and tickets for this game only start at $5 and are available now online at LSUtix.net and beginning at 11 a.m. on game day at the upper concourse PMAC ticket windows.
Activities will also start outside on the PMAC plaza beginning at 11 a.m. as the band Blue-Print will entertain in a special LSU Basketball Fan Concert presented by Southern Barbeque. There will be concession areas outside the building and a special stage will be set up where fans can view the 2011 Cotton Bowl Trophy and take pictures with the LSU Cheerleaders.
Coca-Cola will have a sampling area of some of their products and LSU hasn’t forgotten the youngsters who will have a special kids zone area set up for their enjoyment.
Inside the Maravich Center, the highly-respected LSU Glee Club will sing the national anthem prior to the contest which will be televised on the LSU Network and on the affiliates of the LSU Sports Radio Network (WTGE New Country 100.7 FM The Tiger in Baton Rouge).
At halftime, Coach Miles and the LSU football team will officially be presented the Cotton Bowl Trophy by Cotton Bowl officials and then the Tigers Girls will be joined by former Tiger Girls in a reunion dance featuring members of past national championship Tiger Girl units.
During the game, fans will be able to play “Basketball Bingo” with prizes awarded to the first 500 fans to find a Bingo on their card. Among the prizes to be awarded are two tickets to the Memorial Day weekend Bayou Country Superfest at Tiger Stadium; two sets of two tickets to the Champions Club at Alex Box Stadium for a future game; gift cards to Jack in the Box, Rotolo’s and LSUshop.net.
Other LSU prizes include balls autographed by LSU coaches, a pre-game sideline pass to an LSU football game, t-shirts, mini-hoops, a private Tiger Stadium tour and the chance to throw out the first pitch at an LSU Baseball or Softball game.
As usual, LSU students are admitted free of charge with their LSU ID and the student lounge will be open at 11 a.m. with food and drink sponsored by Acme Oyster House.
