BATON ROUGE – The dates for the 2011 summer sessions of the LSU Tigers Boys Basketball Camp were announced Monday that will take place in the new LSU Practice Facility and the Pete Maravich Assembly Center.
The types of camps and dates for 2011 are: June 10-12 – Team Camp; June 13-16 – Day Camp I; June 17-18: Father-Son Overnight Camp; June 28-July 1 – Day Camp II; July 2 – High School Skills Camp.
The team camp guarantees a minimum of four games for coaches looking to give their teams some 5-on-5 summer competition and costs $300 per team. The deadline to register for the team camp is May 15.
The two day camps run for four days (Monday-Thursday) from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. The sessions, for grades 3-8 offers campers a chance to learn and improve fundamental basketball skills and learn what it takes to be a good team player. The cost is $250 per person and campers will receive daily lunch, a camp T-Shirt, camp basketball and a photo. The registration deadline for Day Camp I is June 3 with Camp II’s deadline June 17.
The Father-Son camp on Father’s Day Weekend has proven to be one of the most popular events on the summer camp schedule. The event begins on June 17 at 5:30 and concludes at 3 p.m. on June 18. The event, for fathers and their sons in grades 1-8, costs $205 for each pair and $75 for an additional son. Campers will be houses in the LSU dorms on Friday night and the fee includes meals, camp T-Shirts, a camp ball and photo. The deadline is June 3 for this session.
The one-day High School Skills camp has a $55 registration fee and runs from Noon to 6 p.m. for grades 8-12. The camp is for high school players looking to reach their full potential. Campers will be challenged to raise their game to the next level with an afternoon focusing on fundamentals and competitive play. The registration deadline is June 22.
