BATON ROUGE — Game 1 of the LSU Baseball Purple-Gold World Series has been postponed Tuesday due to rain.
The series will now begin at 3:30 p.m. Wednesday in Alex Box Stadium. Game 2 will start at 3:30 p.m. Thursday, and Game 3 begins at 3:30 p.m. Friday.
All games are open to the public with free admission.
Freshman right-hander Kevin Gausman is scheduled to start Wednesday’s game on the mound for the Gold team, while the Purple will counter with junior right-hander Tyler Jones.
The Purple-Gold World Series culminates LSU’s five-week fall practice session. The Tigers begin the 2011 season on Feb. 18 versus Wake Forest in Alex Box Stadium.
