A big, physical pitcher with tremendous mound presence that worked as a part-time starter and reliever for the Tigers in 2011 … selected by the Minnesota Twins in the 11th round of the 2011 MLB Draft and signed with the club in August 2011 … ace of the Madison Area Tech JC staff that advanced to the Junior College World Series for the first time since 2005 … fastball sits in the low 90s.

JUNIOR SEASON (2011)
Appeared in 14 games (six starts), posting a 4-0 mark and a 5.22 ERA in 39.2 innings with 23 walks and 37 strikeouts … pitched a brilliant three-hit shutout on May 17 at the University of New Orleans, recording one walk and 15 strikeouts in a dominating performance … the 15 strikeouts recorded by Jones represented the most by an LSU pitcher since Anthony Ranaudo struck out 15 Auburn batters on April 24, 2009 … worked seven innings in a victory over Sacred Heart (March 9), allowing one run on three hits with four walks and four strikeouts … posted win over Southeastern Louisiana (March 1), limiting the Lions to two runs on five hits with two walks and four strikeouts … defeated New Orleans in his LSU debut on Feb. 22, allowing three hits in five shutout innings with no walks and six strikeouts.

2010 Junior College 1st Team All-American … participated in 2010 Junior College World Series … 9-2 record with a 3.01 ERA in 2010; recorded 77 strikeouts in 74.2 innings and limited opponents to a .238 batting average.
