PACIFIC PALISADES, Calif. — LSU’s nationally-ranked doubles tandem of Whitney Wolf and Keri Frankenberger fell in the opening round of the qualifying doubles draw at the 2010 Riviera/ITA All-American Championships Tuesday in Pacific Palisades, Calif.
No. 43 Tatsiana Kapshai and Rebeca Delgado of Sacramento State defeated the Lady Tigers’ 41st-ranked duo, 8-4.
Due to potential inclement weather Wednesday, Wolf and Frankenberger went ahead and played their scheduled match in the consolation bracket against Nebraska’s Madeleine Geibert and Stefanie Weinstein, but the Huskers’ duo prevailed, 8-3.
“The girls competed hard in doubles, but we have a lot of work to do to get to the level we would like to be at,” assistant coach Lisa Jackson said. “We look forward to getting back to work in Baton Rouge.”
LSU will return to action this weekend when several Lady Tigers travel to Evanstown, Ill., to compete in Northwestern University’s Wildcat Fall Invitational, beginning Friday.
