BUDAPEST, Hungary — LSU swimmers Jane Trepp and Andrei Tuomola each competed overseas at the 2010 European Championships this past week in Budapest, Hungary.
Trepp, who represented Estonia, posted a pair of top-20 finishes in the 50-meter breaststroke and 50-meter butterfly. The five-time NCAA All-American just missed advancing to the semifinals of the 50m breast, claiming 17th with a mark of 32.39 seconds. She raced to 20th-place in the 50m fly with a 27.63 clocking.
The senior-to-be also swam the 100m fly and 100m breast and played a role on Estonia’s 4x100m medley relay. She placed 32nd in the 100m fly (1:01.95), finished 42nd in the 100m breast (1:13.68) and held the breaststroke leg on her squad’s medley relay, which took 17th (4:19.77).
Tuomola (Finland) raced in the men’s 50m and 100m breast, 50m and 100m freestyle and the 4x100m free relay.
The four-time All-American recorded 38th in the 50m breast (29.02), 40th in the 50m free (23.37), 42nd in the 100m free (51.12) and 49th in the 100m breast (1:03.81). The sophomore-to-be also helped Finland’s 4x100m free relay register 12th with a team-best split of 50.71.
