WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. — The LSU women’s swimming 200-yard medley relay team delivered a 13th-place finish to pick up All-America honors Friday at the 2010 NCAA Championships in Purdue’s Boilermaker Aquatic Center.
The relay squad of Morgan McGee, Jane Trepp, Amanda Kendall and Samantha Goates swam to a season best of 1:39.24 seconds.
In individual competition, sophomore Mary Beck posted a 33rd-place finish in the 100 backstroke with a 54.22 clocking. McGee finished 46th in that race (55.09).
Trepp swam two events during the preliminaries, taking 35th in the 100 breaststroke (1:02.35) and 37th in the 100 butterfly (54.07). Kendall placed 63rd in the 200 freestyle with a time of 1:50.07.
The Lady Tigers moved up to 23rd in the team standings after Day 2.
The LSU women will close out the 2010 NCAA Championships Saturday with the 200 back, 100 free and 400 free relay. Beck will take part in the 200 back, while Kendall and Goates compete in the 100 free.
