BATON ROUGE – The No. 19 LSU softball team will take fans behind the scenes at different points during the 2010 season. LSU starts year two in Tiger Park Wednesday at 6 p.m. against Louisiana-Monroe.
Junior Ashley Applegate stopped by to share some thoughts on the home opener after Tuesday’s practice.
It’s great to be at home and to start our second season in our phenomenal ballpark. There are so many reasons why the 2010 Tigers are excited to be back at home.
The No. 1 reason why there is no place like home is our fans that bleed purple and gold. Tiger fans are the loudest and most enthusiastic softball fans in the nation. We’re very appreciative of our loyal fans. Our fans are there for us through thick and thin. IT’S TIME to show them what we have.
All the players are excited to see our fans pile in to help us intimidate our opponents like football does in DEATH VALLEY. We have worked extremely hard in the classroom, on the field in addition to our strength and conditioning. The anticipation to play this season has been higher than ever.
We opened up 2010 last weekend in Austin and now IT’S TIME to play on our state-of-the art magnificent field at home. This is an honor to be able to represent not only LSU but also the entire state of Louisiana. We’re excited to play for our fans and look forward to the start of showing them a show that’s worth coming for back for again and again on Wednesday night.
Geaux Tigers,
Ashley
