BATON ROUGE – The No. 18 LSU softball team will take fans behind the scenes at different points during the 2010 season. The Tigers take on No. 19 North Carolina and No. 21 DePaul on Friday to open the Time Warner Cable Texas Invitational.
LSU loaded the bus and departed for Austin at 2 p.m. from Tiger Park. Freshman Allison Falcon stopped by to share some thoughts on her first road trip.
“We’re excited that our first road trip is officially underway. The Tigers are currently on the I-10 going west towards Texas, and I imagine that we will be traveling for approximately 38,473,754,895 more miles until we reach our destination in Austin.
I got a text message from Coach Girouard while I was in Chemistry class to get to the field and on the bus. So, everyone was a little rushed. I’m sure I forgot something, but there is no turning back now. :0)
As we were getting ready to pull out of the parking lot, we decided to do a headcount only to discover we had a stowaway on the bus. It was Cassie Trosclair, who can’t travel with the team because she is sitting out the season after transferring from Auburn. Give her credit because she was hoping to hitch a ride and cheer on her teammates. Once the stowaway problem was taken care of, we were on our way.
I’m sharing a seat with Lauren Houston on the bus which is fine by me because she’s one of my roommates. We spend a lot of time and always have an awesome time together. Luckily our team mom, Cody Trahan, has every type of snack that you could ever ask for so I’m pretty satisfied with my seat.
Morgan Russell is going around and interviewing everyone with her video camera. Everyone is so excited about the first road trip of the year. There are cameras flashing every few seconds, as everyone is trying to capture and preserve the fun memorable moments.
Geaux Tigers,
Allison
