BATON ROUGE – LSUsports.net will get to know the seven newcomers on the Tiger softball team leading into the 2010 season. Today’s edition features Heidi Pizer.
Pizer comes to LSU after spending a season at Louisiana-Lafayette where she saw action in eight games for the Cajuns in 2009. During her high school career in Oregon, Pizer was a four-time All-Pacific Conference at shortstop.
“Trying to keep myself and the entire team motivated to do their best is how I want to continue LSU’s championship tradition,” Pizer said. “Coach [Girouard] talks to us all the time about the Tiger Way. Our team wants to perform at our top level every time we take the field.”
LSU opens the 2010 season against No. 19 North Carolina, No. 21 DePaul and host Texas, a trio of 2009 NCAA Tournament squads, at the Time Warner Cable Texas Invitational on February 12-14.

Fans are encouraged to get their season tickets to guarantee great seats for LSU’s impressive home slate that features 16 games against 2009 NCAA Tournament teams highlighted by match-ups against Michigan and Georgia, a pair of Women’s College World Series squads.

What is your 2010 New Year’s Resolution? -When I moved to Louisiana, I was introduced to Raising Cane’s. That’s probably one of the worst things that could have happened to me. My goal is to eat healthier in 2010.
Which teammate would you want to switch places with for a day? – Kirsten Shortridge because I want to be able to slap and hit home runs from the left-side of the plate.
Which teammate would win ‘Dancing with the Stars?’ – Morgan Russell. She probably wouldn’t be the best dancer, but she has what it takes to win over the audience. There’s no doubt that everyone would love her.
Who is your favorite cartoon character? – Zazu from the Lion King
