AUBURN, Ala. — The LSU women’s tennis team concluded the ITA Southern Regional Championships Sunday hosted by Auburn at the Yarborough Tennis Center in Auburn, Ala.
Senior ninth-seeded Nicole Kantor came up short to second-seeded Kristi Boxx of Ole Miss 6-2, 6-3 in the quarterfinals round. Boxx registered at No. 25 in the national preseason singles rankings released by the ITA earlier this fall.
Sophomore Whitney Wolf, a No. 7 seed, fell to Alabama’s fourth-seeded, 61st-ranked Courtney McLane 6-0, 6-3 in the quarterfinals as well.
“Nicole and Whitney played some very good players today,” said head coach Tony Minnis. “We’re going to get back to practice and continue to get better and improve for our next tournament.”
The Lady Tigers will be back in action Nov. 6-8 for the Harvard Invitational held at Harvard’s Beren Center in Boston, Mass.
