BATON ROUGE — LSU Heisman Trophy winner Billy Cannon and All-American quarterback Bert Jones highlight a star-studded day at the Jack & Priscilla Andonie Museum and The Cook Hotel on Saturday, Oct. 10.

In conjunction with Saturday’s top-five showdown between No. 4 LSU and top-ranked Florida in Tiger Stadium, The Andonie Museum and Cook Hotel will host a full-slate of events beginning at 10 a.m.

LSU’s only Heisman Trophy winner Billy Cannon will be signing autographs in the lobby of The Cook Hotel from 10 a.m. to noon. The LSU Golden Girls will be on the lawn of The Andonie Museum from 11:30 a.m. – 12:30 p.m. signing autographs and posing for pictures. Finally, the last LSU quarterback ever to be named first team All-American, Bert Jones, will be signing autographs and greeting fans inside the museum from 1-2 p.m.

Pianist Sam Adams will be providing music in the hotel lobby throughout the day.

It has been 50 years since Cannon’s memorable punt return for a touchdown on Halloween Night in a 7-3 win over Ole Miss in Tiger Stadium. Ironically, Saturday night’s clash between LSU and Florida is the first matchup of top-five teams in Death Valley since Cannon’s No. 1 ranked Tigers held off third-ranked Mississippi in 1959.

You won’t want to miss this chance to meet Cannon and Jones as well as get a picture with the Golden Girls. And it all happens Saturday at The Andonie Museum and Cook Hotel, located 3838 West Lakeshore Dr.

The Jack and Priscilla Andonie Museum is home to LSU’s Athletics history. The museum, located at the Lod Cook Alumni Center, is full of artifacts and memorabilia from the Andonie’s personal collection totaling 13,000 pieces. The museum is open Monday ?
