True freshman Matty Ott was superb on the mound last week, earning a win and two saves as the Tigers won four of five games … Ott made four appearances, recording 6.1 shutout innings while allowing just one hit … he recorded no walks and 10 strikeouts, and opponents batted .050 against him … Ott earned a win in LSU’s 2-1 win over Northwestern State on Tuesday, working 1.1 shutout innings with two strikeouts … he picked up the save in LSU’s 6-3 victory over McNeese State on Wednesday, working a scoreless inning with one strikeout … Ott was dominant in collecting a save at South Carolina on Sunday, as he pitched three perfect innings,  striking out six of the nine Gamecock batters he faced … on the year, Ott is 2-1 with a 1.02 ERA; he has recorded 29 strikeouts and one walk in 17.2 innings.
